Juvelook Skin vs Juvelook Volume: What’s the Difference?

Juvelook Skin vs Juvelook Volume: What’s the Difference?
A Complete Guide by Particle Size and Treatment Effect

- Dr. Hwang You-Joo, Director of Lijin Clinic, Myeongdong

Hello,
I’m Dr. Hwang You-Joo, director of Lijin Clinic in Myeongdong.

During consultations, I often receive the following questions:

“What is the difference between Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume?”
“If they use the same ingredient, how do I know which one I should choose?”

Although both treatments are based on the same core ingredient,
they differ in particle size and the skin layer where they act,
which ultimately leads to different treatment purposes and results.

Today, I would like to explain the difference between Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume, based on the criteria we use in real consultations at our clinic.

What is Juvelook?

Juvelook is a collagen-stimulating skin booster.
It is made with PDLLA (Poly D,L-lactide) combined with hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in human skin.
Once injected into the skin, the material gradually breaks down and stimulates fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen.
As a result, the skin responds by producing new collagen and elastin.
This means the treatment does not simply fill space like traditional fillers.
Instead, it stimulates your skin to regenerate its own collagen, helping restore skin density, elasticity, and natural volume.
Because of this mechanism, the results are typically gradual rather than immediate.
Over several weeks, the skin becomes firmer, smoother, and more refined.
After stimulating collagen production, the material eventually breaks down into water and carbon dioxide and is naturally absorbed by the body.

Juvelook Skin vs Juvelook Volume
Although both treatments use the same ingredients,
their particle sizes are designed differently.

This difference affects:
✔where the material settles in the skin
✔how it works within the tissue
✔the main purpose of the treatment

Juvelook Skin : A skin booster for improving skin texture and density

Juvelook Skin contains smaller and finer particles than Juvelook Volume.
Because of its size, it is injected into the superficial dermis, allowing it to spread more evenly across the skin.
This treatment is commonly used to improve: pores, fine lines, skin elasticity, overall skin texture
As the PLA particles distribute evenly within the skin, they gradually stimulate collagen regeneration, which helps improve skin firmness and smoothness over time.
Juvelook Skin may be suitable if:
✔ Your skin has become thinner and less elastic
✔ Fine lines or enlarged pores are noticeable
✔ Your skin texture appears rough or dull

Juvelook Volume : Structural support for hollow or sunken areas

Juvelook Volume contains larger particles and is injected into the deeper dermal layer.
This allows the treatment to help support areas where volume has been lost, such as: the cheeks, the temples, nasolabial folds
At this depth, the treatment stimulates collagen production while also helping restore structural support to the skin.
Unlike fillers, which create instant volume by physically filling space,
Juvelook Volume gradually improves volume as collagen forms over time.

This results in a more natural and progressive change.
Juvelook Volume may be suitable if:
✔ Skin laxity and volume loss are more noticeable
✔ Certain areas of the face appear sunken
✔ You want to restore natural facial volume

Juvelook Volume vs Fillers
Juvelook Volume is sometimes compared with fillers because both can improve volume.
However, their mechanisms are different.
Fillers : physically fill empty space, create immediate volume
vs
Juvelook Volume : stimulates collagen production, gradually improves structural support
Because of this, Juvelook Volume often produces more natural and longer-term improvements.

Which Treatment Is Right for You?
The appropriate treatment depends on your skin condition and your main concerns.

If your main concerns are:
✔rough skin texture
✔fine lines
✔reduced skin elasticity

then Juvelook Skin may be the better option.
If your concern is:
✔facial hollowing
✔reduced facial volume
✔then Juvelook Volume may be more suitable.

In some cases, when both skin texture and volume loss are present, the two treatments may be combined for optimal results.
Choosing the right approach based on your individual skin condition often leads to more natural and stable outcomes.

The Trend: Natural Slow Aging
In recent years, the trend in aesthetic treatments has shifted toward “slow aging.”
Rather than dramatically changing the face,
the goal is to help the skin gradually improve on its own, allowing the aging process to progress more slowly and naturally.
In that sense, Juvelook can be an excellent option for patients seeking subtle, natural skin rejuvenation.
Today, we looked at the differences between Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume, focusing on how the treatment approach varies depending on the skin layer.
I hope this explanation helps you better understand the treatment.
Many patients also ask about Juvelook nodules during consultations.

In the next post, I will explain the causes of Juvelook nodules, how they can be prevented, and how they can be treated.
Thank you for reading.
